Sunset on 6 Ladder 10

'Sunset on 6 Ladder 10' I made this photograph several years ago. We were just finishing up ladder training, and Dave was just hanging out on the end of the stick. I grabbed my camera and shot. I metered on the sunset, to get him in a siloutette.

Watching Over

When I made this photograph, I wanted to come up with something that would show a 'spirit watching over' type of thing. protecting us as we do our jobs.

Disneyland?

This is a view from the parking lot in downtown Disney of all places. It is a sight that I never thought I would see in Disney.

Strolling through the Quarter at night

Thses are a few photographs that I took along my night wanderings. on the first one: I have been told that this image draws you into it. Calls to you, asking you to step inside, walk along the street, dancing with the shadows. the others are just a few more I took along the way. The third image is one that I have gotten a lot of compliments on.

the pitch

“Let me play you a ballad, I will spin for you a beautiful tale, one of love and happiness, as my notes echo out across the water.” The sax player is Dr Saxtrum, the street musician I met when I was down in New Orleans

Ever Vigilant

“Ever Vigilant” is a phrase that comes to mind when I think about this photograph. The firefighter was getting ready to go up to the roof to preform ventilation operations. It also made the front page of workingfirefighters.com - a site dedicated to firefighters.

After the Battle

"After the Battle"
This was taken at a training fire where the house was intentionaly burnt down after extensive trainging. This man knows more aout fire behavior than just about anyone I know.

The photograph for some reason reminds me of a general standing over a battlefield reviewing the battle won. I know, its strange, but thats just me.

Hatred

Hatred. This hotel has stayed empty, with a destruction and fires inside it for years. The owner refused to allow colored people in during the segregation times, and said he would rather lock the doors.

January 2nd, a day of quiet recovery, the city starts waking up once again from a night of wild times.

More of the Cafe Du Monde

I had been pondering what to do with this image - I loved the ladys hat i just was not sure what to do with it. I put blue in the baby's jacket as well - not sure if I am going to keep that in there or not. *shrug*

I often think of the Cafe, the whole atmosphere of the place. It is one of my most cherished oasis I have wandered through.

The River Walk

Evansville, Indiana is great place, with many interesting little places to wander to. This was along the Riverfront, just down from the casino boat.

The relaxing porch

Sit for a spell as we wander through the Big Easy. We will relax here, enjoy a nice cup of tea, and listen to the fountain and each others conversation, taking in every moment as if it may be our last.

St Louis Catherrial

I have been told by someone that this is their favorite photograph that i have made yet. I was in Artillery Park after my friends wedding and heard music from the street. I looked out across the courtyard and saw the musician, and took the shot, hoping to capture the momont that I could remember this time by. The second image is another Photograph of it.

Book 2 cover

This was the cover to my 2nd New Orleans book. There was lots of debate over what image to use, but I think that everyone was right and this was the best option.

Another view of the old evil house

This is a photograph that I took of the flamingo of the window of the run down house. for some strange reason i found it a bit odd, and had to get a shot of it.

National Fallen Firefighters Memorial

Silence... Remembrance... When I walked up to the monument, I could not utter a sound. All I could do was think of all those have lost their lives in the line of duty. What can be done to save more from ending up as names here in this sacred place? Training? education? There will always be a great risk.
